Alex Church needed 3 hits heading into the game in Texas to reach 3000 for his career. After a couple singles earlier in the game, he hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 8th inning off of Texas pitcher Tim Beam to make it 3,000 for his career!

Here we go again . . . As a reminder, Sammy has more All-Star selections (9) than all other nominees. He retired as the #2 HR leader which says quite a bit. Also has 1 MVP to his resume. This player didn't have great players surrounding him (except for SP Darnell) during his era unlike other player...
