Re: MVP ??

And 3 of those 4 times happened after the sim finalized the MVP vote code. I wonder if an update to the formula would be justified? (Not that it would ever actually happen...) I'm sure that if someone presented Chris with a new formula he would at least offer it up as an alternative. As you may rec...

Re: MVP ??

Yeah, major impact clearly. He won't win, though...never seen a losing record team win an MVP I was being a bit tongue in cheek but I have never seen an MVP from a team with a losing record on the sim either, then again it's only happened 7 times in MLB history. Ernie Banks in 1958 & 1959 Andre Daw...

MVP ??

When Jimmy Wheeler went down with injury we were 32-44, not great but not a tire fire either, and we were scoring 4.8 runs per game.

Since Wheeler's injury we are 2-11 and scoring 3.1 runs per game. You can smell the rubber burning from Oxnard

Tell me that's not an MVP

Re: Am I missing something?

Both these pitchers are high velocity moderate control guys, they often have inconsistent careers.

Both of them have career WHIPs in the 1.45 range, meaning they give up a lot of baserunners, sometimes that comes back to bite you in a big way

Re: Open for suggestions. Uncle ABE Uncle !!!

So a few things I can think of: 1) the National League is very good 2) you're not as bad as your record, your pythagorean % is .445 3) it's only April 28th 4) you've had some bad luck from red letter pitchers that will come around (see #3) 5) your offense is not good but again you've had some bad lu...

Not sure I've seen this before

Los Angeles hitters walked 15 times in our recent victory over San Diego.

Not sure if I've seen a team pick up 15 walks in a game before. The 15 walks combined with 16 hits raised our team OBP from .319 to .347 in one game, taking us from 7th in the league to 1st.

Retirement Bug - please read

Going through retirements this morning I noticed that Charlie Clarke had retired. He shouldn't have, at least not based on our league rules. With retirement system 2 a pitcher should not retire unless they: Spend less than 125 games active, Clarke was active for 156 Are on the waiver wire, Clarke wa...
