Re: Keeping the streak alive

29 is good but the Buckeyes had a 35 year run from 1971-2005 before losing 101 games in 2006. Despite their dismal record in the post season, only 7 titles in 46 playoff appearances, that Buckeyes team is my crowning glory on the site, 96 seasons with an average of just over 90 wins a year, 46 trips...

Keeping the streak alive

The Los Angeles gutted out an extra inning victory over Brooklyn in game #155 to keep their streak of never losing 100 games in a season alive. We were cruising along on a 70+ game pace until we decided to go with the kids in September and it looked touch and go for awhile but win #63 is in the book...

Morita is OS30 without a dominant skill so the offer isn't terrible, it's just that Backman has virtually no chance of being a major leaguer.

Pass on this one but counter with Foster & a 1st and see where that takes you.

I'm not crazy about Theiss, he's just never going to get on base enough, but I wouldn't deal out Donnelly alone for that package.

Props to your Retirees 2018 edition

Used to post this regularly, not so much anymore but one of my favourite Miracles packed it in last year so thought I'd revive. Actually a six pack of veterans called it quits from the LA ranks in November but only three had major impacts on the franchise. Two of the retirees were what I call "chari...

Re: Lincoln was robbed

At least this time Hartranft had the higher score (1058.45 versus 1057.75 for Lincoln by my math) ;) Didn't run the numbers, actually think Hartfranft probably had a better year last year with a slightly higher fielding % and range though Lincoln had a higher +/- and turned more DPs. I just was rea...

what are the odds

2118 - Lincoln and Hartranft tie again. Not surprisingly Hartfranft is still older so he wins again.

Re: Why i made the deal

I agree with rooster completely. He gets a good pitching prospect and a 1st round pick. I add a stud at the top of my rotation to hopefully win another title. Fingers crossed for luck. He is injured after two good second starts and will miss a month. It's his 10th injury in 12+ seasons, which I gue...
