Re: The Post Not Made

I was around for games #1 & #2 and then was out. I never look at the games on my phone so by the time I got home game #3 & #4 had played. I checked the scores and quietly cursed, the curse of the 3-0 series lead was looming. I dodged my bullet, you still have to wait and see what happens wit...

Well I'll be Damned & the ALCS MVP

Continuing the magical mystery tour that is 1966 for the Rainiers we finally won a playoff. It only took seven tries but we finally did it. Convincingly as well, no seven game nail biting. We hit well, team OPS of .875, pitched well, team ERA of 2.22 with a WHIP of 1.22, and fielded indifferently, 3...

Classy move this year to give Sweet Lou the start in Game #162 so the Miami fans could say goodbye, that's what I'm here for.

Ties goes to the oldest player, not sure why but that's how it is, had it happen to me once.

Re: Ron Sutko Day in New York

Fun fact. I hate to see long standing veterans retire as free agents, I know it's odd but whatever. If I remember I will pick them up in September, put them on rest and that way they retire as major leaguers . This year I picked up Mike Marichal who wasn't great but is 9th on the all time wins list ...

Re: Well that was a surprise

Here I was thinking that by walking away from our Pollack discussions and dealing with Oakland, I'd force your hand to tear down at whatever price you could get and clear the path for Baltimore. Whoops. Should be a spirited playoff! I never take "whatever I can get". It definitely costs m...

Well that was a surprise

I wouldn't have bet a nickel that this team would win 107 games this year. I was all ready to tear it down and start the rebuild, I dealt out Jackson for futures but couldn't find deals to my liking for my other top talent so we ended up trying other stuff. I knew Cohle wasn't going to cut it as an ...

Not really, the Leafs actually waived Samsonov, you just put Larry in the corner and told him to stay there for awhile

Re: New Nickname

I am particularly impressed by him giving up 20 base runners, (14 hits, 5 walks and a hit batsmen) in 9 1/3 innings :o
