thats not what I think. I dont care to explain myself to you, because you
arent important to me. In fact, i find it kind of reprehensable of you to
come in here and crap on our goodbye thread. No one will miss you, no one
will remember you. so just go away.
| Quote: | | What if Tyson just thinks that these guys aren't
worth the trouble anymore (see bolded)? What does the OGL / off topic
posting really do for Tyson? You know there are many of owners who would
never even bother with the non league boards, some don't even know they
are there or care. |
No crap this is what Tyson thinks. What I am doing is referred to as
"changing the cost/benefit analysis". When there is an issue between two
third parties, and one of the third parties is acting against your best
interests, if you come in and create a new cost, or reduce one of his
benefits, it may cause him to make the more beneficial move for you.
In this particular case, I am using what little sway I have to attempt to
change the cost benefit analysis. I believe some have more sway than I do
(Tim and barterer for example), which could drastically change the
cost/benefit analysis.
| Quote: | As for sticking up for those guys - yes they are my
friends, but this is the internet, and it's not serious business to me
(and I wouldn't think anyone on here, except for Tyson). I'm not going
to get my panties in a wad because my friends just got kicked out of a bar
that they have been loitering around in for years (in some cases, only
really interested when there is controversy ((sorry Aaron)) ordering
nothing but waters and the occasional beer, all the while mocking the game,
the new forums, whatever.
Does it really have to be that serious? It's the internet. There is
already a new forum up. The OGL has been dead for many renewals now.
It's time. |
Yes, thats great, if this is what you think, as mentioned above, just leave
it alone.
I wouldnt say that it happened the way you explained it, but thats a whole
different thing.
To me, my friends are my friends, whether in the bar, or on the internet.
And the bar, or the baseball game is just a game or just a
bar. If the owner of the bar or the baseball game acts like a dick to my
friends, I will vote with my feet. And you wont. Which says something
about you, which is fine, because ive always sort of found you dispicable.

Can you believe I was 16 years old when I firt joined? Where did all that
time go?
I've never been good with good-byes, so I'll keep this short: it's been
fun, thanks for the memories.
"Oh my god. It's like sport for you, isn't
it? Backing logically inconsistent positions until we get bored with
telling you how stupid you are. Why the censored do we even talk to you?
You've never gotten a blow job, have you? I mean seriously. You
couldn't have. It's not possible. There is no way any man
who's had sexual relations of any kind with any woman would ever act
so dipshitishly immature.
I think I can say, with honesty and accuracy, that I have left dumps in the
toilet less worthless than you. And I'm sorry I said that because
you'll probably run straight to the crapper and dump one so you can
take a picture and post it so you can claim I made that up and have no idea
what I'm talking about.
F*cking A, man."
--Duff, Lord of the Butters
Words of wisdom from Professor Tard Classes:
"(also from my admittedly limited understanding of
genetics, I believe that a plurality of traits are sort of together within
a gene... like how chicks get their boobies and bajingos all at the same
time.
So the theory, the one that the white chick who everyone hates suggested is
that just like how chicks get boobies AND bajingos, black folks get (on a
single gene thing) dark skin AND smaller brains. along with other things
that are not pertinant to this conversation... big booties for the chicks,
I dont know. But just like how some chicks got basically no boobies, some
black guys got basically none of the smaller brain part. Thats her theory,
the one that I think is stupid.)"
"and although philippino is categorized as asian, it
is also categorized as hispanic, thus, I count it as half of
each."
"You guys actually dont understand race do
you?"
"Essentially, on road trips, you can get most of the
way there without having to drive at all."
"we just need like...a bunch of tubes or something.
Our dinner gets delivered to us every day. How great would that
be?"

Man, when I first joined I was still in high school. You know how many
people I still talk to from my high school? Honestly, like 3 people.
I have to admit that this place, aka you guys, have had a huge affect on my
life. I mean, I will give you credit for introducing me to almost every
book, musician, movie and TV show (ie. Watchmen, Tom Waits, Interstella
5555, Lost) that I now hold dear. And even the ones you all did not
directly introduce me to, you did indirectly by making me interested in
those types of things. So thank you for turning me into another elitist

I found this site in 2003 when I was in a summer program at Cornell after
my junior year of high school. I was bored and spent too much time in the
computer labs. I had played some shitty online games called "Utopia" and
"Earth 2025" (the standard whoever has no life and logs in the most at
all times of the day does the best and no one else has a chance of becoming
powerful online games) and those games had a promotion where if you voted
for those games on some online games polling site, you got some extra in
game bonuses, so i went to vote, checked the list of sports games looking
for something that didn't suck, and found simdynasty, where I lingered
with single season teams until joining the Ron Santo League with a money
order (probably the only time in my life I'll ever use a money order). I
was also in the Cap Anson League, where I pwned n00bs until I got bored and
left at the first renewal. Joined the Billy Hamilton league where Meathead
and I were the only competent owners in the NL - I briefly dethroned him
but gave up that team in protest for Craig's first banning. I was in the
OGL for a while until I got bored with the game because I played world of
warcraft (all those wasted hours are another story) and the USL as well. I
rejoined simdynasty after being gone in the OGL and would read through a
lot of the threads but didn't have much to stay. I later left the OGL and
kept on with the HCL. It's been 7 years.
I'll occasionally check into the new site, but without lol gameside to
draw in newbies, it will likely eventually flame out.

Wow are you guys all kids?
I'm closing on 50.
Maybe I would have been emotional about this all those years ago. I was
certainly emotional about a lot of things I don't give a raw red rat's
rectum about now ...
but mostly it was partying and girls (in that order usually though I
promised myself many mornings to switch it up), with sports thrown in
... Pong was the technological materpiece before Asteroids and Misslie
Command
I have enjoyed reading your stuff when nothing was on cable late at
night.

i was away for most of it as well, but as far as i can put it together, it
went something like this:
craig, tyler and aaron make posts in a thread on sports talk about salary
caps. tyson slaps craig for off-topic posts although aaron's seems to be
the one who's actually off-topic and craig seems to be the one suggesting
the thread get back on topic. tyson bans craig and tyles for a week and
allows them to apply for reinstatement after that time. craig reacts with
something less than perfect grace, feeling that he's being wrongly
punished. since it's a username ban and not an ip one, craig and tyles
continue to post on the ogl despite the banning. at some point craig goes
back on the public boards using a thinly disguised alterego. hilarity
ensues and when the smoke clears craig and tyles have perma-bans although
tyson suggests they can still apply for reinstatement via email if they
wish. which they refuse to do.
at some point in this period tim and tyles meet in the world series
gameside and have an idea. just to see if they can, because really the
game shouldn't allow them to, and they trade entire rosters before the
world series. the trade goes through, but since neither team has any
eligible players, the games won't run. so the league goes into limbo,
stuck between the LCS and WS forever.
at that point sparxx starts to complain about the situation and is
essentially told 'lol gameside'. so i believe he then goes to admin with
a complaint and after briefly considering discipline against tim and tyles,
tyson restarts the league and tim's team beats tyler's 3 times in game
one, twice in game 2 and once each in games 3 and 4 for a 7-0 series win.
some of the 'core' owners are a bit miffed by sparxx getting bent out of
shape over it and sort of discuss trading players around the NL to create
to other playoff teams. nothing along those lines is done but sparxx goes
to tyson anyway, who responds by announcing he's folding the league due to
collusion. there is some kerfluffle and tyson reinstates the league to
continue until the next renewal when the league will likely fold. there
has been discussion about creating a new league from the ashes, with a
similarly open message board but somewhat more serious gameside play. i
believe there's still an opening or two in that. the thread is around
here someplace.
anyway, that's what happened, more or less, so far as i can tell. i may
well be mistaken in one or more events or timelines but i think that's the
essence of it. apparently it was quite entertaining. i'm sort of sorry i
missed most of it.
