As an example, if two teams tie for 5th in the standings in the league that loses the World Series, the points for 5th place (80) and 6th place (70) will be added together (150) and divided in half so that each team receives 75 points.
Tie Breaker (overall standings) Team with the most playoff bonus points will be given preference. If, even after using playoff points, two or more teams remain tied, prizes will be divided equally at the Commissioner's discretion.

Re: Prize Rules
Hey, fellas thanks to LannisG for prompting me to double check my totals ... realized I had left out the playoff bonus points in the total point calculation.
Fixed it now.
Also, now that we're a 24-team league, we might want to award some points for Division Series winners...?
Here's how the new totals fall out:

Resolution to change league scoring
Resolution is as follows:
Currently
Winning the ALCS/NLCS grants 10 bonus points
Winning the World Series grants 15 bonus points
New Resolution would have:
Winning ALDS/NLDS grant 5 bonus points
Winning ALCS/NLCS grant 10 bonus points
Winning World Series grant 15 bonus points.
Please vote 'yes' to adopt the new resolution, or 'no' to keep bonus points as they are currently.

Re: Resolution to change league scoring
Assume this will be retrospective?
Re: Resolution to change league scoring
Yes,
This would be retroactive back to the beginning (1970).
If you look in the current point thread, I have posted the current totals as they are now and what it would look like if we made this change

Re: Resolution to change league scoring
I'd agree to the 5 points for the Division Series winner, if we also increase the W.S. winner to 20 points.
Every round of playoffs would then be worth a total of 20 points.

Re: Resolution to change league scoring
I'm ok with that too... makes sense for the 20 points per series...
if you need to visualize it, add 10 to Houston, 5 to Boston, and 5 to Texas and you have the totals of what Willy's idea looks like in the totals
