Win-Loss Run

Post by TheBigKahuna0 »

I wanted to do this further along in the season, but I'm more than likely forget then this data is unavailable. But about half way through seems fine too. For those who haven't seen these charts, this is a running win/loss chart. From game one when everyone starts at 0, each win gets you moved up one. One loss and you go down one. It's a fun visualization on how the season is progressing. For example, you can see the NL has been all Chicago all year. The Gothams had a great winning streak (any long, straight line is a streak). The AL is a two-horse race and you can see the point where KC's dive started. Anything close to 0 is about .500 in the standings. I'll try to update this at the end of the season

Pretty cool, how did you get the data? It seems like a lot of work to do it manually.

Just copy and pasted all the schedule/result pages into Excel. Unfortunately there isn't a better way, but it also doesn't take too long.

That’s a ugly line for Cincy. They will get better.
