The Baltimore Beer Barons wish to congratulate Myrl Barnes on the remarkable feat of reaching 3000 hits. It happened in a game against Seattle, with Barnes going 3 for 4, with 2 RBI, and a walk, raising his current season batting average to .347. The team hoped the magic number would be reached last season, but he finished 15 hits shy at the end of the year, and the club missed the playoffs by 2 games. There was some question about whether the soon-to-be 38-year-old would return for the 2038 season, but he put any question to rest, assuring management in the spring that he was ready for one more go-around. The club is locked in a battle in the American League as 6 of the 8 teams seem to be contenders. Barnes already has three championship rings, and would certainly like an opportunity to add a fourth. Either way, the three-time AL MVP winner has now cemented his place in the Hall of Fame.

That's one great career, but it doesn't come as much of a surprise. He's been one of the best for a whole lot of seasons. Congrats on reaching a real milestone and you've got our HOF vote. KW
