500

Post by Mike0221 »

During the 2038 season, Myrl Barnes cemented his place in the Hall of Fame by adding over 3000 hits to his already lengthy resume. When the season ended with the Baltimore Beer Barons falling 2-games short of a playoff spot, and Barnes turning 38-years old, it seemed the legendary player would hang up his cleats for good. But then he got a look at his stats sheet and realized he finished the season with 499 career home runs. "Well, I guess I gotta come back for one more year," he said.

Today in Los Angeles, Barnes clobbered number 500, and then for good measure, hit number 501 too.

He's gone from the status of legendary to immortal, joining only five other players in JDL history to collect over 3000 hits and 500 home runs. Congratulations to our inspiring leader.
