2040 JDL Nominations

Post by tles »

If anybody would like to nominate a player, we can do it now. Last season, we did not have enough votes to elect players into the Hall.
1. Should we alter the rules for electing players?
2. Should we elect any player that received 100% of the votes last season? (i.e. 6 out of 6... even if 2 other owners didn't vote for those players, they still would get in)

I am curious to know the reason some owners didn't vote last season.
Is it because they were new to the league and unfamiliar with the players, or the process?
Was it that they didn't see any candidates they considered worthy of a vote?
Or was it a lack of interest?

I'd really like to know because the answer would affect my decision on whether or not we need to change the league rules.

Meanwhile, I have a nomination.
The Baltimore Beer Barrons nominate Myrl Barnes, one of the finest players to ever grace this league.

Mike, I still think you should have traded me Barnes.

Anyways, I nominate Doug Gardiner.

The Philly Dogs nominate :

Blackjack Banes
Killer Kahn

I am in favor of the HOF admission requiring 75% of votes cast. With no minimum amount of the number of owners voting.

Brooklyn has no nominations

I like needing at least half of the league to chime in with their vote.

If the minimum was to not happen again, I'd probably look to change something

Based on these responses, I propose that we keep the rules in place for the time being. After this HOF voting period, we can look to change it if there are not at least 8 votes.
