Briefly and Ineffectively

Post by historymann49 »

Boston v Texas Game 45 (I don't know how to post links). Boston led throughout, but my starter couldn't get the win because he only pitched 4 innings. My long man came in to start the 5th and faced two batters - single, HR. My middle guy then came in and pitched 3 solid innings - 1 hit, 0 walks, 0 runs. Guess who ABE gave the win to? How do you give a win to a guy who faced two batters, gave up two runs, and got no one out?? I think we need a human scorekeeper.

There are definitely flaws in the scorekeeping system. Never really thought about that one. Guess the win automatically goes to the next guy to pitch.

a win in this situation is a judgement call for the scorekeeper of the game. It should have gone to the 3+ innings guy, thats one a human element would have corrected, but in the end its just one win, and this issue wont be a factor often enough for a "fix" in the software in my opinion.
