Late score

Miami 19 Atlanta Hammers 6

The frustrated Miami Pandos exploded for 19 runs on 18 hits to end their season high eleven game losing streak, They took their anger out on six Atlanta pitchers. Starter and losing pitcher Paul Fitzberger (5-2) went three and two thirds innings getting pounded for seven runs (five earned) on eight hits.

Five relievers Andy Brodie, Goose Piet, Don Beltre, Marv Fewster, and Keith Raines allowed twelve runs on ten hits with five walks and five strikeouts.

Right hander Count Rosselli even his record at 3-3 going nine innings giving up fifteen hits and six runs, all earned with five walks and five strikeouts.

Gordon Stouch swent three for three for Atlanta scred twice and had two runs batted in on his 15th homerun.

Steve Kappel went three for five for miami with six runs batted in. Kappel hit two homerun giving him 13 for the season.

Mike Swift (4), Oscar Holt (1) and Red Wilson hit his 4th and drove in four runs on a three run shot in the 3rd inning and a sacrifice fly in the 5th.

New York 9 Cubs 2

The Giants moved back into a tie for the wild card position with a 9-2 thumping of the Chicago Cubs.

Alex Rudolf 7-1 threw his 3rd complete game of the season. The two time All Star allowed seven hits and two earned runs walked three and struck out seven.

Oscar Grieve fell to 2-9...6IP 5H 4R (1 Earned) 3BB 9 Strikeouts

Teery Maddux, Ferrell Fincher and John Mahler worked in relief for Chicago.Ferris Tartabull hit his first homeun of the season for Chicago with no one on and no one out off Rudolf in the 8th.

Dutch Akers hit his 8th wirth two on in the 1st inning off Grieve to give NMew York a 3-1 lead.

Farrin Fisher's RBI ground out in the 4th upped the score to 4-1.

An RBI double by Carlos Barcelo and a three run homer by Floyd Detzel (11th) made the ffinal score 9-2 Giants.
