Confusion!

Simple question: I am not making any accusations, but could somebody (especially Brooklyn) explain to me how in trade #463 (where a trade occurred between Brooklyn and Kansas City) Brooklyn ends up with both left fielders involved in the trade? Why would KC agree to a trade and then put the newly- acquired player on the waiver wire? I guess I'm missing something. Can somebody kindly enlighten me?
