A left-handed throwing SS

Post by master86 »

Really? I know its a game, but....in what universe does a LH SS rock a +21 in RF in a season, let alone a +4 for his career. How does he get to those balls up the middle having to reach across his body?
How does he complete 100 DP's?
Sigh...

After a decade plus playing this "GAME", I suspect I need to rethink strategy.

My understanding is throwing hand does not matter defensively

fielding is not a big problem, thats all about positioning, its the turning of the body to throw to first thats the problem, it takes longer than a righty to just throw across the body... i am a lefty who dreamed of playing SS when i was small...

So it matters or it doesnt? I've never seen a SS/2b come out of the draft throwing LH...this particular dude was originally a 1b and the owner used him at SS. Again, stunned that this is a "thing" without some sort of "penalty". Like I said- dude had a +21 recently.
