The Miami BeachCombers departed the Steel City maybe not as omnipotent as they were declared after sweeping the first place Brooklyn DodgerBlues, but certainly potent with a series win and a drastic rise in moral. Miami lost game two in the tenth inning when Ed Stephenson, then a two base throwing error by shortstop Steve Kashiwada and Stephenson scored on a grounder to shortstop by beating Kashiwada's throw to catcher Barney Swann.
Neil Brenner started game three for Miami and Harmon Durning for Pittsburgh.

Miami took a 3-0 lead in the thrid inning by displaying some extra base power. Yo-Yo Roberts walked and stole second. GeorgevLipscomb tripled driving in Roberts and Lipscomb scored on Ricky Hamner's first of two homeruns in the game.

Jeff Mussille hit a solo homerun in the 4th for Pittsburgh to cut the lead to 4-1.

Miami scored two more runs in the 5th inning. Ricky Hamner hit his 8th of the season following Roberts single to up the score to 6-1.

More extra base power for Miami was on display in the 6th. Durning hit Chuck Koskie with a pitch and Bennie Schatzeder douboled in Koskie. Kasiwada hit his second of the season already to put the score at 9-1 in route to a 9-4 final.
