One-hitter

Post by dabigtrain »

Dismal season here in simulated Milwaukee, so we're having to celebrate near-greatness. In his first start this season, Greg Keating almost one-hit the Big Red Machine; leading 2-0, he was pinch-hit for in the eighth inning. Since then, he's been erratic at best, but pitched a complete-game one-hitter on 7/21/1993, winning 2-1 against the Philly First Responders. A HBP in the first and a solo home run in the eighth were the only blemishes on his record for the evening.

"How come he can't throw like that every start?" asked Milwaukee manager Earl Monzant, rhetorically. "Oh, right, because he's lousy."

Your season isn't so dismal today! Dave Heinkel apologizes for breaking up the no-hitter but Keating hung one, middle up, and Dave couldn't resist.

Looks like keating should be traded. KC will offer any waiver wire guy you like and some sweet KC BBQ racks of fall off the bone ribs. MMMM that sounds like a deal.
