Interesting factoids

The teams abolished in the contraction had a combined record last year of 250-398 in the NL, but 310-338 in the AL (thanks mainly to a rousing 119-43 by the late, lamented Baltimore NattyBohs). Both league will be harder to win this season, but the NL especially is going to see some fierce competition. I don't expect my Socialists to win anywhere near 113 games this year without those bottom four teams to beat up on...

Competition brings out the best in everyone. I know I stuck around because I'm at the ending steps of a rebuild, and I'm hoping this roster can compete for a long while, but removing all those bottom feeders from the league will definitely affect those 100 win seasons we have recently seen.
