MALDONADO NO-HITS KANSAS CITY...Blues win 11-0

Luis Maldonado gave the second place Kansas City Blues a huge pick-me-up by throwing his first career no-hitter, against the Chicago Police, striking out nine, and facing just one over the minimum over nine innings. Chicago's only base runner came in the eight inning when Eduardo Fuentes reached on an error by Kansas city shortstop Benito Lagares.

Fuentes reached second base in the inning on a stolen base, but Leon Corrales topped a fair ball in front of the plate and was thrown out by catcher Mark Engle.


The Blues scoered eleven runs on sixteen hits fiesting off Chicago starter Brett Lonborg. Lonborg was battered around for twelve hits and nine runs (eight earned) in seven innings.

Several hitters has multi RBI games. Bill McDonald drove in two runs with a 5th inning single. Todd Stanton hoit a two run hoerun in the four run Kansas City 6th inning. George Keane had a two run single in that inning as well and Darren Jacobs drove in two runs with a 7th inning triple.


Kansas City picked up a game on first place Texas who lost to Cleveland 7-5.
