Cubs Rookie hits for the cycle

Bill Nicholson made some noise against the San Diego Defenders and made his case for an early favorite in the rookie of the year race with a sterling 4 for 4 game, scoring 4 runs and driving in a pair. The Cubs, lead by Nicholson's cycle, pounded out 13 hits in a 10-1 victory. Albert Beebe notched his first win of the season with a strong eight inning performance of 4 hit ball, walking just one while striking out five and surrendering one earned run. The performance for Nicholson is a bright spot in an otherwise long rebuilding season for Chicago.
