Early Season Preview - 2036 - Seattle Mariners

Post by escocoach »

**Disclaimer, previews inspired by ofan1987's previous post**

Every couple days I'll have a couple more teams. Starting with the American League.
Early Season Preview – American League

Seattle Mariners- 2035 - (105-57, 1st place)

All-Stars – 8
MVP – Jerry Morton (1st), Buck Williams (2nd), Charles White (5th)
CY Young – Billy Knoll (1st), Vicente Outlaw (2nd), Matt Wood (3rd)
Fireman – none
ROY – George Winchester (4th), Art Wieneke (5th)

History – 23x AL Conference Champion , 8x World Champion

• The defending American League Champions come into the 2036 season as the favorites to win the AL once again. The Mariners are led by arguably the best starting rotation in all of the MPL. Cy Young award winner Billy Knoll (23-5), Cy Young runner-up Vicente Outlaw (21-3), Matt Wood (19-7), along with former Cy Young winner Homer Ellis (11-14) are the backbone of a starting 4 that combined for 78 wins last season. The Mariners will look to young Jerry Henderson to shore up the backend of the rotation.
• At the plate the Mariners are just as strong as their pitching rotation. Three Mariners were among the top 5 finalists for league MVP. First baseman Charles White (5th), Shortstop Buck Williams (2nd), and the MVP Jerry Morton (2B) led a contingent of 8 Mariners that made the All Star team in 2035.
• After coming up short in the title series the last 2 series, the Mariners are looking to lay claim to the title of World Champion for the 9th time in their storied history.

I think Seattle has the best roster in the league. That pitching staff is scary
