Bold Predictions for 2041

Post by ofan1987 »

1. For the first time in years, both Boston and Seattle will miss the playoffs. Aging teams in Boston and Seattle will miss out as upstarts Oakland and Texas make it to the postseason... Oakland wins the AlCS in 6 and the World Series in 7 games.

2. New York challenges the single season wins record of 126 and sets their own team mark in the process, beating their 120 wins set in 2037.

3. Terry Eisenreich drives in 150 runs, becoming just the 7th player to accomplish the feat.

4. Atlanta wins 100 games... and still comes in 4th place.

5. Andy Moffat wins his 3rd straight CY Young Award... unless Montreal or Milwaukee trade for Matt Wood.

6. Someone on Chicago or Tampa Bay dies midseason.

Results-

1. I was right about Boston and Seattle, predicting the rise of Oakland. Washington held off Texas though. Works series winner still pending.

2. New York won 116 games, but was never a threat to the record. Montreal was, but finished with 123 wins after dropping their final 4.

3.terry didn’t accomplish the feat, but Bill Makoesky of New York drove in 155, indeed making a 7th person in the 150 RBI club.

4. Atlanta came in 4th but had a losing record. Maybe they ascend the standings next year

5. Moffat ran away with his 3rd straight CY. Wood stayed put.

6. I don’t think we saw any casualties
