Andy’s like to win

Both Cy Young winners were an Andy, and they both won a lot of games. In fact, there have been eight 27 win seasons in the leagues 91 year history and two of them just happened.

In Oakland, Andy Enwright went 27-3. He won 13 straight decisions at one point and carried Oakland to first place.

In New York, Andy Moffat went 28-4. He’s just the second pitcher to reach 28 wins. He won 16 of his first 25 starts, then won his last 12. He set single season records for complete games and innings pitched, a real workhorse.

Amazing year to be an Andy.
