Moffat the GOAT Pitcher?

Post by ofan1987 »

Moffat is at it again, throwing 4 shutouts in his first five starts.

He’s firmly starting to put himself in the conversation for greatest pitcher of all time, along with Umberto Goya, Armando Johnston and Delvi Dobson.

Johnston is the all time strikeout king and has 329 wins. He won four Cy Young Awards. He also has the most games started, but his ERA of 3.82 and lack of complete games and shutouts hurt his case.

Dobson is the king of shutouts, at 61, and ERA, at 2.71. He won an ERA title his rookie year and won two CY Young Awards. His weak point is that he won just 262 games.

Right now, Goya is the GOAT. He won 6 CY Awards and 5 World Series titles. 108 complete games and 40 shutouts. A 2.93 ERA. He did it all for a long time.

Moffat has had an amazing career and has a shot to get in that conversation depending on how the last 5-6 years of his career goes. He’s about to be 2nd all time in both complete games and shutouts. He has a chance to win a 6th CY Award this year to match Goya. He needs to win more games though, as he sits at 232.
