Post by PetesFan »

Congratulations to Greg (Washington) on his world-series win. well-done.

As always, thanks to everyone for another sim-season. This is still a fun way to spend a few minutes of each day.

Good luck to everyone for next year.

Thanks guys.

Between evenly matched teams, defense was the difference.

Wow, I hadn't even noticed your defensive specialists before. Normally, I'd question your logic (or at least mention the pitching element of your defense was a factor as well), but it's hard to argue with your postseason success. That said, I don't know if I've ever seen a defense cause 9 unearned runs in a 5 game series! Especially, considering the pitching was only on the hook for 12 runs! 10 errors in 5 games is just plain unlucky.

What the heck happened to Paul Gorecki's fielding in 2045? 25 errors in the regular season after winning a Gold Glove with a 7-error season in 2043. Surprisingly, his 1 error in the World Series wasn't a costly one.

Also, Jon Graham is definitely a subpar Second Baseman defensively, but I still find it hard to believe a .981 career fielding percentage translates to the 2-error game like he had in Game 2.

It's fair to say Skip Mota single-handedly lost Game 3. Critical throwing error that extended a long inning, and topped it off with the only 0-fer in the lineup.

Finally, how does Al Kaline end up with more errors in Game 4 (2) than in the entire 2045 season (1)? And, he also had a meaningless error in Game 1, too! 3 errors in 5 games!
