Pitching is egregiously expensive in this league.
e·gre·gious
/əˈɡrējəs/
adjective: egregious
1.
outstandingly bad; shocking.
"egregious abuses of copyright"
I budget almost half my salary cap for it but refuse to pay much more than $10 mill for a SP or $5 mill for a RP, instead trying to spread the wealth through the staff. Of course, that could explain why KC is a perennial second division team, LOL.

I see what you did there. Yeah, I'm a little crazy. But it's okay, they know me there.

Right now, there are 15 SPs paid at least 10M, so on average every team probably needs to have one to be competitive. I got 2 of them on day 1 of free agency.

I agree that pitching is too expensive; maybe propose a new rule putting a cap on a team’s rotation?

i wouldnt want a cap like that

if someone wanted to spend 60 million on 1 player that's their business.

i like the challenge of trying to find a way around this problem

Agree with Gannable.
I have always operated with the idea that an ace SP is going to be between 12.5-13.5/yr.
I have Northrup a number larger than that because at 28, he is already the best SP in 120 years of BZL as measured by ERA.
Top batters are always cheaper than top pitchers partly due to the reality that they are more plentiful.
In all honesty, where I see the most overspending is with second tier players getting just under elite money, both pitchers and batters.
Those second tier players are as equally capable of turning in an all star year as they are a mediocre, barely above replacement level year.

Supply and demand!

Blumer just won a WS with all SP's under 10mil??? Proves that you can be strategic and not have to spend $14mil to be competitive!
