chmela11 -- not new to SimD, having been around since 2012 -- but it looks like this may be his first Salary League. A word about the schedule.

Tomorrow is LCS day, followed by the World Series on Sunday. Monday begins the four days of the free agent season. You must have your bids submitted by 8 p.m. EST. You can find some helpful words here (or not). Following that, there is one additional day when the waiver wire opens up for everyone (at approximately 9:35 a.m. EST). And you can make deals and set your roster. The day after that the season begins.

Good luck and feel free to ask any of us questions! (Especially me, as I am duty-bound to give you fair and honest answers as the Commissioner.) Oh -- and if your team total salary goes over $85 million at any point, you automatically are dropped to the bottom of the draft (#16) next season. That's a hard cap we have all agreed not to exceed. You may also want to read the Salary League info in the Game Guide.

The #1 piece of advice we give all new owners is: focus on signing ONE-YEAR DEALS until you get the hang of this. For two reasons: you get a bump in "effective salary" with a one year offer and you're not stuck with a long term bad contract if you have misjudged the market and paid too much.
