Montreal 1 Philadelphia 0

Post by jimbowie »

Johnny Cougar improved his season's record to 5-2 with a 3.59 ERA with an eight inning gem against the Philadelphia Luzinski's. Cougar went eight innings allowed no runs on three hits walked two and struck out twelve.

Manager Squid Jordon happily opined after the game ''After the first three innings he was unhittable. All their hits came early and he did a good job of working around them. Something he does not always do.''

Montgomery Clift came n to pitch the ninth for his sixth save.

The only run came off Philadelphia's veteran right hander Stan Feliz who also struck out twelve in the game. Felix did not walk a batter and allowed five hits.

The game's only run came in the fourth inning when Gary Tyson singled with one out and scored on a double by Ryan Theriot.

Someone is feeling better today, and it's not just Johnny Cougar.

If Houston keeps going 18-2 neither of us will feel good.

Worst thing is he's not even saying anything, just beating everyone up.

I thought you were exaggerating, but I looked it and you're quite right. Houston is 18-4 since August 13. Good work, dude.
