2064 HALL OF FAME ELECTION

Post by jbk »

Seeing that one owner has already voted we might as well close the nominations and have an election. This season we have 8 candidates for possible inclusion in the world famous Duke Snider League Hall of Fame. Those nominees are:

Dode Evans http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=11112755 Evans retired with 280 career wins in 18 seasons with Pittsburgh. In League history he is #1 in innings pitched, #2 in complete games, #3 in strikeouts, #6 in shutouts and an All Star 8 times.

Harland Dunn http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=12798874 Harland Dunn hit 402 HRs and stole 455 bases playing RF for 14 seasons for Pittsburgh. He ws an All Star 4 times.

Swede Leach http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=12968549 Mr Leach was a 4 time All Star for Pittsburgh and then the New York Knights. He won 4 Gold Gloves in CF, was Rookie of the Year in 2049 and MVP in 2052.

Bill Miller http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=12905804 Miller was a 7 time All Star 1B for 3 teams and hit 376 HRs in his career. He had 316 SBs and a .283 career BA.

Russ May http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=13070402 Another 7 time All Star, May was a reliever for 3 teams. He had 245 saves and a 3.38 ERA.

Ricardo Sweetland http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=13023761 Sweetland was a reliever for Milwaukee for 16 seasons, 10 of which earned him All Star selection. He had 570 career saves and won the Fireman Award 7 times.

Bob Kirk http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=13070434 Kirk was a catcher for Seattle for 15 seasons. He was an All Star 6 times and MVP in 2057. He had 197 HRs and a career BA of .291.

Chick Leskanic http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=13023767 Another reliever, Leskanic pitched 15 years for Seattle after having successfully escaped from Philadelphia. He was an All Star 9 times.

At least 8 owners must vote in order to validate the election. In the past we have had as many as 14 owners participate. Assuming sufficient votes, a nominee must receive more than half the votes cast to earn enshrinement. Nominees receiving at least 25% but fewer than the number needed for selection will automatically be included on next season’s ballot.

Please vote for any or all. Thank you for your participation.

The Bucks votes are:

Dode Evans NO, in a close vote. Evans W/L and very high ERA keep him out. In many ways he was a victim of being kept in games too long.

Harland Dunn No, but he's in the Hall of Very Good.

Swede Leach No. Hall of One Great Season

Bill Miller No. Another Hall of Very Good player

Russ May No

Ricardo Sweetland Yes. Second all-time in saves. I might be biased, but that gets him in

Bob Kirk Yes, in a close vote. Great fielding catchers that can hit are a limited commodity~

Chick Leskanic No. A nice player, and threw a lot of relief innings, but didn't have a HOF career. I'd take him on my team anyday, however. Kind of reminds me of Gene Garber or Eddie Fisher.
