Farewell to Juan Murray

Post by LTJaeger »

After a dominant career, Milwaukee Bucks ace Juan Murray has retired. Murray's achievements include a 308-121 career won-lost record, five Cy Young Awards, 9 World Series rings, and a six year run where he averaged a 24-4 record, topped off by a 30-2 year. Part of a remarkable draft in which the Bucks drafted Murray and future MVP Claral Schullstrom with the top two picks, and traded for reliever Gene Mathews, star first baseman Glenn Hughes and super sub Clint Jenkins, Murray was probably the best pitcher in Bucks history, with all due respect to multiple Cy Young winners Coonie Handley and Cliff Reis.

I don't want to be rude or anything but I don't think I'm going to miss Mr Murray all that much; if I remember correctly, about half his wins were in games against Philadelphia.
