Daniel D. Wall, Part 5

Post by Triplet_Dad »

Philadelphia, PA

The end of an era has approached, Daniel D. Wall has played his final game for the Pittsburgh Sneaky Monkeys. Wall capped off a record setting season by winning his 9th career gold glove and, at 40, might be the oldest player in SD history to win one. Wall officially hung up his cleats as the all time league leader in hits, singles, doubles and at bats. He also finished second all time in runs (2107), walks (1411) games (2855 - 1st all time in the NL).

It is the beginning of a new era, however. Wall has pledged his support and guidance to a new crop of fantastic young players about to come on the scene in Pittsburgh. He is up to 20 years their senior, but Wall will personally be mentoring:
Bill Miller
Harland Dunn
Xavier Young
Eddie LaRose
Buster Knutt
Greg Suppan
