Texas Injuries

Post by klobas2 »

I'm sure that no one is crying over any bad luck that might befall the Texas franchise, an unowned team that represented the AL in the world series last year and is running roughshod over the league this year, but check out the injuries to this player.

Tex Rooney, a fourth overall draft pick, has B- health. He's having a great year. After OPSing .900 in the prior season he's at .999 this year...however over his now six year career, this player, again with B- Health, has now suffered six different injuries totalling 190 days of missed time.

That's rare for a player with F health.

What bad luck.

Trevor Wylie, a rabid Twins fan since his youth, has fallen on hard times. Formerly an ice cream shop owner, he attempted to bolster his winter sales lull by shifting into the white hot poki-bowl concept (which he discovered on a recent trip to the San Francisco area), but using waffle cones instead. Overestimating the demand for raw fish served in a waffle cone (and the soggy result of this combination) he lost his shop and became homeless. He is often found outside of Twins games selling knock-off t-shirts and caps but recently was found selling voodoo dolls of the opposing teams ($10 each, $15 with a half dozen needles). Perhaps to no one's surprise, Rooney was a top seller during the last homestand.

Minnesota's VP of Operations, Danny Forsythe does not condone such black magic "we are a superstitious bunch, for sure, but we would never wish ill on another player." However rumors swirl about a recent expense on the books for a check written to Wylie for $6,500 with no items listed in the order except ''services rendered".
