If a player does not receive a vote in his first 2 years he will be removed from future ballots (player with no vote in 1st year will have his name in caps)
after 5 years players not inducted will be removed - last year of eligibility 2030 (player will be in caps for his last year)

This is one of the thinnest crops of vets I think I seen for the Hall. That being said Seattle votes for 1:

1B Boyd Dubiel

mostly for his awesome .876 lifetime OPS and 5 seasons over .900 OPS.

true dat! I was surprised at the lack of talent in this year's retirees -and for the record, I agree with Dubiel!

Also for the record...After voting my HOF ballot last season and reading yours and spicoli's comments on Dubiel, I want back and added him to my ballot, having voted for 4 originally. I don't think it got counted because it was a little late.

I also like to see when owners post comments about particular players on the ballot pointing out highlights or lowlights on their stats. Spicoli and max are good at this and it helps bring it to others attention.

thanks! Not trying to sway the voters, but often there's a lot of info to sift through so it can't hurt to point out certain things that might otherwise get missed.

Ok, so I'm going to throw a monkey wrench in the voting this year.

1st) I'm not voting for anybody on this ballot. This is a rough looking group. If I were going to put somebody in, it would be Dubiel. Santana wasn't terrible, but there were certainly better starters that aren't in the HOF.

2nd) With Rocky Balboa getting in with last year's voting and now Verlander getting votes this year, I think I have to inject that there were quite a few RP that I think should be going in before them. Personally, I don't think Balboa should have gotten in, but I can understand based on the limited roles of relief pitchers. He does hold the single season record for Saves (69 in 2028). In that season, he also won the Cy Young which is pretty special for a Closer. I actually like Verlander even less since at least Balboa had 3 really special seasons which actually coincide with both of LA’s WS victories and LA’s loss in the World Series in 2028.

3rd) Since the current player pool is rather lacking in worthwhile candidates, I’m going to suggest possibly adding some new names. Max does a great job keeping the HOF process run smoothly so I hesitate to make his job harder. That being said, if we are seriously considering lackluster candidates, I think we should consider some of the guys that are missing. Since we no longer have the old forums to see the older voting it’s impossible to find out why they didn’t get in, but I think the current owners involved in voting for the DDL HOF ought to be able to judge pretty accurately.

Here were some of the guys I think deserve another look:

Hitters
1. Marty Mack - 11 AS, 2 MVPs, 452 HR, 1538 RBI, 1528 Runs, lifetime OPS=.875
2. Dick Sparma - 3085 Hits, 1719 Runs, 415 HR, 1643 RBI, 11 AS, 4 Gold Gloves
3. Gus Malloy - lifetime OPS=.851, 4 AS, ROY
Pitchers
4. Mike MacDougal - 8 AS, 1 CY, 2 Firemen, 2 WS, 3.06 lifetime ERA, 1.13 lifetime WHIP
5. Roscoe Stein - 532 Saves, 10 AS, 4 WS, 2 Firemen
6. J.B. Hood - 538 Saves, 10 AS, 2 Firemen, 2 WS
7. Jim James - 8 AS, 3 Firemen, 3.39 lifetime ERA, 397 Saves
8. Ed Huskins - 493 Saves, 9 AS, 3 Firemen, 1 WS
9. Al Adams - 455 Saves, 9 AS, 4 Firemen, 1 WS
10. Al Clendenon - 10 AS, 2 Firemen, 409 Saves, 3.46 lifetime ERA

Those are my thoughts. Do with them what you will.

Michael
