Amazing 2037 for Norm Hartley

Post by spicoli306 »

Norm Hartley has become a 1-man wrecking crew. Here are the great stats from last season:

92 losses for the MVP's team This has got to be a record, by a lot! Best I could find were 3 instances of 75:
1) Cleveland in 1978 of Coveleski's MVP season
2) Amazingly, LA in 2026 of Drew Peerson's MVP season when LA would win only 87 games but still finish 1st in the NL
3) Also shockingly, Joe Tramback's 2028 season where Philly still made the playoffs despite 75 losses

640 All-Star votes - #2 all-time
Sergio Coveleski looks like the record holder. He'd finish with 661 votes in the 1978 season.
John Mosby appears to be the previous #2. He'd finish with 639 votes in the 1987 season. Mosby would put up 599 vote seasons in 6 straight years (1984-633, 1985-634, 1986-620, 1987-639, 1988-599, and 1989-601)! :o
John Tanner looks like the previous #3. He'd finish with 638 votes in the 1979 season.
Eric Keller looks like the modern (i.e. 2000-present) "previous" record holder with 609 votes in the 2027 season.

148 runs scored (tied for 5th all-time)

225 hits (tied for 11th all-time)

Side note: Hunter Redfern's 51 HR, 147 RBI season!!! Back to back MVPs for Hunter. His 51 Home Runs in 2037 placed him at #4 all-time behind only Wib Ouellette's 53 (2027), Don Elliott's 53 (1954), and Quinton Jackson's 52 (1971). His 147 RBIs in 2037 would end up tied for #8 all-time. His 2037 OPS of 1.015 is the 43rd best single season OPS. His 2037 SLG of .651 is the 11th best single season SLG.

If this is beginning to sound like a broken record, I fully admit I'd previously talked about Hartley in this Halfway Forum Thread and This Forum Thread about the 2036 MVP race

Ok, so now I have a name for the 600+ AS vote season. It shall now be known as a MOSBY in the DDL. Who will be the next star to hit for a Mosby???

Condolences to Sergio Coveleski. However, in the event of a 700 vote season, I will pre-emptively call it a SERGIO!!!
