Bando gave up back to back homeruns to Tom Jeffcoat (3rd) and Walker Brown, also his third of the season, and second of the series, with one out.

The score remained 2-0 Minnesota as Bando and Danny Bottalico shut down the other teams offense until Boston rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Bando initiated the rally with a lead off single. Pinch hitter Joe Higgins and Rip Carter also followed with base hits to load the bases for Jeff Shantz, who unloaded them with ne swing of the bat, hitting a long drive to deep left field for a grand slam homerun off losing pitcher Hardie Collins (0-2).

Larry Crawford picked up his first save of the season. Campbell allowed a lead off single to Jeffcoat. After Brown flied out Homer Dahl grounded into a 5-4-3 game ending double play. It was the third double play of the game for the Boston infield.
