San Francisco Giants 4 Los Angeles Kings 3

A Brooks Riggs two run home run in the second inning gave the Kings a 2-0 lead and the lead grew to 3-0 in the third when the Kings scored an unearned run thanks to a two base throwing error by pitcher Dan Davanon and a single by Vince Johnson.

The Giant began chipping away at that advantage in the fourth inning.when Ruben Wade walked and scored on a single by Balor Bradley. Bradley singled in another run in the sixth inning.

In the eighth the Giants took a 3-2 lead on doubles by Charlie Hudlin and Domingo Hagemann in route to a 4-3 victory.

Pittsburgh 3 Cincinnati 1

John Hartley (8-1) the league leader in wins was only able to go six and a third innings in this one (five hits one run) but control problems in the form of four walks shortened his outing and four strikeouts. Frank Hartgrave got the final out in the seventh and Dario Wilkinson went the final two innings for his sixth save.

Brooklyn 3 Houston 2

Two run fifth inning put Brooklyn in place to take a 3-1 victory. Double by Jack Kerr, single by Lefty Sales and a run scoring double by Frank Peters highlighted the inning.

Mets 14 Montreal 2

The highest scoring output for the Mets offense has been eleven runs on one occasion. Other than that the Mets hitters have scored six runs six times, seven runs once and eight runs twice.

They broke out the big bats against Montreal in game two collecting sixteen hits to score fourteen runs behind their ace Jimmy Bracken (4-3) who gave up two runs on six hits walked two and struck out four.

Mickey Hall hit a solo homerun for the Mets in the 9th and working backwards Klondike LaRose broke out of a 3 for 29 slump with three run homer in the 8th inning. Scott Monroe hit a three run home run (his 3rd) in the five run 7th inning. Jolbert Meche had a two run single in that inning as well.

Jeff Westbrook homered for Montreal in 6th.
