(Michael was called up as a mature 22 year old, late in the 1984 season and had an immediate command of the AL pitchers, posting a .330 average in his 25 games. In 1985, it was no surprise that he ran away with the AL Rookie of the Year Award posting another batting average above .300. He continued this streak for another 5 years and a total of 15 years of his 17 total in the majors, retiring in 2001 with a .316 career average. He won an MVP Award in 1987 leading the league with 39 doubles and a .359 batting average. He was an instrumental part of Toronto’s 10 ALCS and 7 World Series appearances.)

(Appearing in 1982 as a 21 year old with raw hitting talent and a good glove at shortstop, Ricky won the AL Rookie of the Year Award. (Jacobson brought his slick fielding to the major leagues, appearing late in the 1984 after 4 fruitful seasons in the Philadelphia farm system. Receiving the nickname of Baby Doll because of his small stature, Jacobson always played big and in 1985, his first full season, took home the N.L. Rookie of the Year honors. The following season he was voted to his 1st of 15 All-Star appearances and helped Philly post a league best 107 wins. Always a hard worker on the field and in the GYM, Jacobson developed home run power along with his speed, winning 4 Gold Gloves and 2 MVP awards. In 2000, after eclipsing his goal of 3,000 hits and being named to his 15th All-Star Team, he decided to retire and spend more time with his wife and children.)
