(Hub was called up at the age of 20, late in the 1959 season. Philly was rebuilding and wanted to get their future power hitter in front of some major league pitching. In 1960, as a 21 year old rookie, Hub, hitting 5th spot, displayed the home run power Philly was hoping for when they drafted him in their first pick in 1957. As Hub filled out, he became a consistent 25-35 HR guy hitting in the middle of the Philly lineup. After being named MVP in 1965, Hub dealt with many nagging injuries that hurt his production while in the prime of his career. Rebounding 1971, at the age of 32, Hub won his 2nd MVP award. Continuing his production over the next few years, Hub retired in 1978 with 525 Home Runs and #2 All-Time in RBIs.)
