No Hitter!

Post by TRR » Sat Mar 10, 2018 3:47 pm

Left-hander Pete Lorre of the visiting New York Immigrants twirled an 8-0 no hit no run victory over the Arizona Star Bucks at Donald Duck Stadium in the game of Sept.12. Lorre improved his season record to 7-4 while striking out 4 and allowing 4 bases on balls. Star Bucks leadoff hitter Floyd Brown also got on base in the 4th frame due to a fielding error by first baseman Cesar Romero, Brown was able to advance as far as 3rd base because of some wildness displayed by Lorre resulting in a couple of walks. Lorre was able to induce 2nd baseman Dan Baldwin into popping up for the third out, ending the threat. Immigrants 3rd baseman Javier Bardem drove in 7 of the 8 runs New York scored on a pair of home runs including a first inning grand slam. The victory moved New York into a flat footed tie with Arizona for 6th place as both teams try to avoid 2nd division finishes.
