The 33-26 Brooklyn Dodgers put an end to a two game losing streak with a 13=5 pounding of the 24-35 Philadelphia Phanatics.
Philadelphiua won game one 4-3 Marty Heine(3-7 5.04) outpitched Brooklyn ace Dixc Hertweck (6-4 2.56).

Newly acquired Howie hernandez hit a two run homerun for Brooklyn, his first with Brooklyn and the season and Jose indiano aded his 5th in the losing cause. Maury Carter hit his 12th for Philadelphia.

Lefty Raymond pickedup his 10th save.


Game Two

Game two was a 13 -3 blowout for the Dodgers. Mike Klien, on the bubble in the starting rotartion went nine innings for Brooklyn giving up eight hits and five runs, all earned, walked six and striuck out eight.

Philadelphia starting pitcher, the losing pitcher, faced six batters in the first inning and did not retire anyone. Brooklyn had six hits and one hit batter.

Brad Miles singled, and scored on a double by Roger Stevens RBI double. Roosevelt Cardona hit his 6th a two run shot scoring Stevens. Klein hit Mark Schyzinski with a pitch and stole second base before Mike Mackovich singled him in to make it 4-0.

Lautero Pareja singled in Mackovich (5-0) Jose Indiano, who started the season slowly, singled to center field sending Parejo to third base. Parejo scored on a wild pitch by reliever Tom McMahon. Earl Schletter hit a two run homerun to make it 8-0.

Brooklyn scored a a run in the 2nd on a double by Walter Sommer.

Brooklyn scored five more runs in the 5th inning. Miles singled and was caught stealing. Stevens walked, Cordona singled. Enrique Roberts came in to pitch. Schypinski reached on an infield single. Pareja singled in a ruin as did Mackovich , Indiano and Schletter to put the game in the bag early.

Brooklyn picked up four players offered up for trade by Atlanta; mostly veterans for a playoff run. 33 year old first baseman Brad Miles, hitting .317 with 3 homerun and 12 runs batted in, centerfielder Earl Schletter 38 years old is batting .237 w/1 Hr. and 9 RBI, right fielder Roger Stevens only 26 years old batting .267 w/1 Hr. and 4 RBI and right fielder Howie Hernandez .194 1 hr. and 8 RBI came at the expense of left fielder Walt Hightower, 23 years old, 143 1 Hr 6 RBI, Left fielder Tim Beattie 35 years old batting .276 with 1 homerun and 14 runs batted in and stealing 10 bases, 3B Marty Boyle, 31 years old, .333 with one 8 RBI and first baseman Larry Branyan is hitting .278, 1 Hr and 9 RBI.
