Post by ofan1987 »

I need your help with this trade offer. This is a (Private/Speed League)

I have been offered:
Will Smith
2106 Draft Pick Rd 1(PHI)
2107 Draft Pick Rd 1(MIN)
2107 Draft Pick Rd 1(NYN)

I would give up:
Nate Barron

Here is a link to my depth chart

Here is a link to the other owner's depth chart

And here is a link to my league's standings

Thanks for the help,

This seems very fair to me, especially because that Philly pick will be very early, maybe even 1st. The only issue I have is that I don't have the SP (or RP) to compete, although we are certainly a team on the rise.

Really struggling with this one.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Once the other owner no longer has his own pick, there is no incentive to lose. I agree that it should be fairly early, but there is just too much risk in trading for only draft picks (especially in future years). A couple bad drafts and this could be catastrophic. If you were farther away from contention it might make some sense, but I really don't think you need more picks right now anyway.

In two years you will need a 5th starter. Your guy seems to have plateaued this year on improves. Maybe move him to 13 on the Minor league it is said to get more improve chances. I wouldn't unless you are guaranteed to get a stud in the 06 draft. The 07 draft could be a crap show. problem with future drafts.

You will regret pulling that trigger. I don't know where those picks will fall but that pitcher will more than likely be the best pitcher in the league at some point.
