Draft advice - pick 5

Post by SouthSideSox »

I have the 5th pick in this draft:

I have Gooden and Gearheart as a clear top 2. After that, everyone seems about the same - decent but flawed prospects or take the old red letter guy. Does anyone have any advice for a top 2 or 3 prospects after Gooden and Gearheart?

Thanks

Gooden (clear #1 choice, big gap between him and Gearhart IMO. I'd train him at 2B right away, his defense should be very solid)
Gearhart (will be a good player)
Conde (chance to be very good vs RHP with really good defense, thought about ranking him #2)
Herbert (year older than the top 3, but has good power splits, and will be very good on defense)
Bailly (will have good value, has good mentoring too)

Gooden somehow slid to 3rd.

I got Gearhart with pick 5. Conde went 6th. Bailly went 7th. It was a close call between them.

I was close to picking up Herbert with pick 21, but he went one pick ahead of me.

Thanks for the advice.
