Kansas City's season takes on new meaning.

Post by cywaterbucket »

The Kansas City Blues have already impacted the late season pennant race by taking two of three from the then first place New York Firebirds. The Blues are currently31-47, seventeen games out of first place. They cannot improve their place in the standings and no matter what happens they cannot finish last and get the number one draft choice in the up coming draft, nor even the second pick in that draft.

The Blues took two of three from New York dropping the Firebirds one game behind Washington, who swept the Baltimore Blackbirds. They now can make a bigger impact by doing the same to Washington and preventing the Senators from clinching the American League pennant.

The Blue have hit .257 as a team with 74 homeruns. The team ERA is 4.40 and the fielding percentage is 986 with 40 errors, all middle of the pack marks.

The team's double play combo is All Star caliber with second baseman Tony Wolff (.307 17 homeruns and 40 RBI) and shortstop Tommy Canavan (.315 9 homeruns and 52 RBI) are both currently on the All Star roster and right fielder Clem Carpenter (.249 11 Hrs 29 RBI) is second in rookie of the year votes.

Ace Otto Allen (6-4 2.28 ERA) will oppose Washington ace Jeff Walter in game one of that series.
