Name Changes?

Post by wcl »

Just curious: I have a pitcher with a rather strange first name, and I wished to change it. SIM refuses, stating that you cannot change the name of a player who has won the Rookie-of-the-Year Award or been an All-Star. This is actually fine...
but what is the reasoning behind it? I really am perplexed. (It is a Trial League, by the way.)
Any ideas?

That's been the rule now for many years. Once they win one of those awards mentioned, the name is locked. The only exception is that you can revert back to the original name if it was changed before the player won the award(s).

Yup, rookie of the year, multiple all star selections, multiple gold gloves, but an owner can pick the guy off waivers and revert to the player's original name:

Not bitter or anything.
