Move from RF to 2B

Post by Roaddog »

Have a RF in the minors with A range and B arm that I would like to move to 2B. Would it be more efficient to move him to CF first, or just go directly to 2B? Any help appreciated.

Murray go directly to 2b. All of positions convert to second at the same right

Keep in mind, that Chris has mentioned in the past that the grid is not entirely accurate. I've noticed that SS is no better than 2B when converting to CF. I've also noticed increased improvements from CF to 2B when compared to corner OF spots to 2B.

I don't know that for sure, but feel confident enough about to have been going to CF first, then 2B for a while now. First of all it's a quick transition to CF, so you're not losing that much time, especially when you consider it's usually over a little over a year to learn 2B from CF (depending on range). Plus, if a guy is good enough to play 2nd base then he's also more suited to CF than a corner spot. That gives me more positional flexibility too down the road.
