Developing a young majors player out of pos.
I have a glut of 25-26 yr. olds in the majors. I have three 3rd basemen. Would it be better as far as development to just play these guys at 3rd or play wherever I have openings to convert ic`s? I know there is a penalty for playing out of pos. In other words get each 300 ab`s at 3rd or maybe 450 at multiple positions ?

The penalty is only 10% so playing everyday is most important. If you can play them at positions that are easier to convert to, that would be best. That way the penalty goes away once they reach 90% in the new position.
3B converts easiest to 1B, and then 2B, LF, and RF.

Thanks for the response. I`ve been playing these guys at multiple positions already. I thought that would be the best, wasn`t sure.

Ive been trying to find a way to get this guy more IC’s and just decided to plug him at 3rd every day until he develops into a stud at 3b. He will not project to being anything more but replacement level but im in constant rebuild so why not right?
