I would have to hunt to find the formula but the winner did have a higher BA and RBI. One whale of a season, though.

That's a tough one. Both players had amazing seasons, but I'm guessing the higher BA, more RBI, had a higher OPS, and playing on a team that finished in 1st place all factored into the formula. I believe the formula also favors 1st basemen least of all the positions, which unfortunately works against him. Splitting hairs here but getting caught stealing 30 times could be a factor too. In any case your player had a phenomenal season!
