Chicago 7 Oakland 1

Right hander Al Bullock has been off and on all season. In one game he will look Cy Youngish and the next like Cy Anuro. He was dominant in this game going nine innings allowing just one run on five hits striking out eight and waling two to even his record at 5-5.

Bullock's victory gave Chicago a win in the rubber game of the series and it left Oakland trailing Detroit by two games. Chicago roughed up Oakland's starting pitcher for three runs in the third inning. Centerfielder Oscar Rumbler, six for 11 in the series with a double, homerun and three walks, singled and scored in front of Tom Stephenson, who hit his third homer of the season.

Marcus Blanco followed Stephenson's homer with a triple, and he scored Chicago's third run on an error by Oakland second baseman Don Corey.

Fred Ermer's fourth round tripper of the season extended Chicago's lead to 4-0.

The Saints widen the lead to 7-0 in the seventh. Rumbler singled to right field leading off the inning. Stephenson drew a walk with one out and Arthur Tracy beat out a bunt for a single. Rumbler scored on a sacrifice fly by Frank Mullan. After a walk to Duff Poloni loaded the bases again Ermer drove in two with a single.
