First ML start - a day to remember!

Post by WillyD »

July 9, 2081 - Milwaukee, WI

MIL - 12
COL - 0

Rookie pitcher Joe Greene said hello to the big leagues in style today, and forever endeared himself to Muskie faithful by not only throwing a CG shutout in his first start vs. COL, but also by smacking a 3 run homer in his first ever big league at bat! He then followed that up with a RBI single in his 2nd at bat!

After whipping the home crowd into a frenzy with his bat, Greene also continually worked his way out of trouble while on the mound, starting an inning ending double play on a sacrifice bunt attempt in the 5th, and then getting out of a jam in the 9th with 2 base runners and just 1 out.

Muskie fans (and I'm sure Joe) will never forget this day!

He's hitting .455 (5 for 11) so far with a 1.182 OPS.
