Just curious as to why my closer started a game. And went 8 innings? Well, at least I know his endurance is good.

Double check your settings.

Why would a reliever ever start unless none of the starters was fully rested? And since we don't play double headers.....

That's the only reason. Hopefully your settings don't allow starters to come in for relief.

I do allow starters to appear in relief if absolutely necessary. So far, it has never happened. And I've played some LONG games. Still can't figure out why that reliever started a game, though.

After posting this, I did some research. One of my starters did appear in relief- two games before the closer start. I must have missed it before in scanning the box scores. He faced two batters. TWO! And couldn't make his next start two games later? And why start the closer of all people? I still say ABE is nuts.
