Boo. I'm whining over here. I wanted the pitcher bad.

Let's get someone to start a draft thread so Jason can take his future ace already? ;)

Isn't there going to have to be an expansion draft first?

Yes, we have to rejigger the draft order based on the expansion teams.

But I'll still be 1st.

So, setting up the draft order ... Before adjusting for expansion, we have this:

1 Brooklyn
2 NY AL
3 NY NL
4 Cleveland
5 Minnesota
6 Anaheim
7 Montreal
8 Oakland
9 Colorado
10 Chicago NL
11 Chicago AL
12 Philly
13 Cin/KC
14 Cin/KC

The rule is we take the average of the expansion teams' draft slots and then put them all in a row, then they draft in inverse order of how they are slotted in the expansion draft once that runs.

So the teams are in slots 5-8-13/14. Either way, it averages to 9. So expansion teams draft 8-9-10.

1 Brooklyn
2 NY AL
3 NY NL
4 Cleveland
5 Anaheim
6 Montreal
7 Colorado
8 Expansion
9 Expansion
10 Expansion
11 Chicago NL
12 Chicago AL
13 Philly

We have a larger group in R1-2 than normal because one of the playoff teams is leaving.

Red, since things are a little weird this draft, can you enter the teams into their slots on the google doc? I'm confused since I've only been here for one expansion draft (my first year in the league).

I updated teams in the spreadsheet, but please check to make sure I did it right (added a 9pm slot to account for the extra expansion pick)
